Tiny Treasures
About the Program:
The goal of the program is to have fun, to prepare a product to take home,
to learn about inexpensive and easy ways of making educational play
materials, to broaden knowledge about parenting, and to influence change
that will improve parenting abilities. Parents have the opportunity to
freely discuss parenting challenges, to learn skills and to share ideas
that support their positive efforts in meeting these challenges.
Format:
Each week, a topic is introduced in a very informal way as participants
make or create something that they can take home. They can use the item
with their child, or keep it as a reminder of a goal that they have for
their parenting. For example, parents can make and keep a stress ball
that's handy when feeling frustrated or overwhelmed, or create and use a
puppet with their child to help the child work through emotions, etc...
