We are very grateful to our major
funder, the Public Health Agency of Canada, as well as to Success by 6, yet
we are still faced with the often-daunting task of stretching our limited
resources to support vulnerable families in our community.
Brighter Futures for Children of Young Single Parents provides
quality programs and support services at no charge to these young
families at various locations throughout the city. Programs such as
Parenting Plus, Anger/Stress Management, the Toddler Learning Club,
and the Young Fathers’ Program promote prevention and healthy family
life. Our guiding principle is “Children First”.
Buns in the Oven provides comprehensive programs and services at no
charge to support pregnant teens and other at-risk women to achieve
healthy pregnancies and positive birth outcomes in the city of
Ottawa. This dynamic program successfully addresses issues faced by
pregnant women in need through education, peer support, health
counselling and access to nutritious food. Three of the eleven
program sites serve only teens.
It is through the generosity of community groups, businesses and
individuals like you that we are able to provide much needed
services to families in our community during a challenging part of
their lives.
Thank you for your sensitivity to the special needs of our
community’s most vulnerable children and families. If you have any
questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
